Easy Toy Modification with Beatrix*JAR @ Rice Street
Looking for an inexpensive way to create one-of-a-kind sounds? Join sound art duo Beatrix*JAR for a hands-on toy modification workshop! Participants will learn to turn battery powered toys into one of a kind musical instruments through a process called circuit bending. Circuit bending, the direct result of experimentation and play, is the technique of using battery powered devices such as children's toys, drum machines and keyboards to unleash sounds the manufacturer never intended!
This program is taking place across the street from the Rice Street Library at the Rice Street Teen Zone, 1022 Marion St.
Children under 12 are welcome to attend with parent participation. Space is limited - call the library at 651 558 2223 to reserve your spot.
This program is supported by the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
