College Essay Workshop

ThreeSixty Journalism and 826MSP present College Essay Workshop, a 4-day workshop focused on personal/college essay writing for Twin Cities youth. As a student, you will develop your voice to create — start-to-finish — a polished, adaptable essay for submission to colleges, scholarships, and more. You will work with professional volunteers from media industries across the Twin Cities.
Through the College Essay Workshop, you will:
- Receive hands-on support with generating thoughtful essay topics, outlining, and writing for specific audiences -such as admission committee readers
- Learn to steward challenging or sensitive life experiences for writing and storytelling in ethical and thoughtful ways
- Sharpen your collaborative, presenting, and youth leadership skills through activities and peer-to-peer reviews
- Work out of the new interdisciplinary STEAM building, tour St. Thomas with campus Admissions, and experience college life
College Essay Workshop is open at no cost to all Twin Cities metro high school youth. We are able to accept 30 students. Application closes May 31 at 5 p.m.
