Join this community-wide forum that will include parents, teachers, administrators, youthworkers, community and faith-based organizations, and members of the community at large to hear what research says about community education and mobilize the community to action. This event will include "table talks" during which participants will engage in a small group excercise to discuss what can be done locally to strengthen connections between schools and community educators.

Community Educators is a call for action and responsibility - both individual and collective - to transform education beyond simply reforming schools. The author's professional education experiences, combined with stories from the field by and about youth and community educators, exemplify the importance of citizen collaboration among the various sectors of the community including youth, parents, schools, businesses, neighborhood residents and ... YOU!

Dr. Patricia Moore Harbour is an educator and certified professional coach. She is an associate of the Charles F. Kettering Foundation, CEO/President of the Harbour Center for Quality Education LLC, and found of Healing the Heart of Diversity, a Fetzer Institute initiative.
