Welcome, Saint Paul Youth Program Providers
We’re so glad you found Sprockets, a network of many different after-school and summer programs in Saint Paul. We believe that young people will be successful and better prepared for their future when they are surrounded by guidance, encouragement and opportunity where the live, study and play. Quality out-of-school time (OST) programs can have a positive impact on academic achievement and social development, so together, we are working to give all young people in Saint Paul out-of-school-time (OST) experiences that ignite their imaginations and build skills for a positive future.
It’s easy to become part of the Sprockets Network, and once you join Sprockets, your organization will have lots of tools, resources and professional development opportunities for your organization. But the best part is that once you’re part of Sprockets, you’re also part of something bigger — a collaborative effort to improve the quality, availability and effectiveness of OST learning for all youth in St. Paul so they can recognize and achieve their greatest potential.
Ready to get started? Let's go!
There’s more to OST – and Sprockets – than meets the eye
Many Program Providers join Sprockets because they want to publicize their events and activities through our online Program Finder or Event Calendar. And that’s great – we want to help get the word out on all the opportunities for youth throughout Saint Paul.
What’s less known about Sprockets is the work we do behind-the-scenes to support Program Providers like you in making your programs even better and providing you with many different resources.
Just look at the following things Sprockets can bring to your organization:
As a program provider, you probably recognize the importance of providing high quality youth programming. But how do you achieve quality programming? And how do you find time in your busy schedule to make quality improvements a priority? Sprockets helps our Network Partners implement the Youth Program Quality Assessment, a nationally recognized tool that helps program staff identify areas of strength and areas where improvement is needed.
Sprockets wants to do everything we can to help youth workers make a positive difference in the lives of young people. That’s why Sprockets Network Partners receive invitations to free professional development opportunities — we foot the bill for these opportunities so you don’t have to. Sprockets’ annual conference and monthly (September – May) Foundational Skills Workshops cover a broad array of timely topics, like program planning, youth engagement, racial equity, integrating academics, partnering with parents, and much more.
Sprockets Network Partners have the opportunity to participate in a shared database that collects and stores information about programs throughout the city of Saint Paul. This information is used to help program providers make the best decisions about their programs, while providing easy standardized reporting for funders and others.
