Welcome, Saint Paul Youth Program Providers!
We’re so glad you found Sprockets and are interested in working together to give all young people in Saint Paul quality after-school and summer experiences that ignite their imaginations and build skills for a positive future.
It’s easy to be active in the network and once you connect with Sprockets, your organization will not only have lots of valuable resources, but you'll be part of a collaborative effort to improve the quality, availability and effectiveness of OST learning for all youth in Saint Paul so they can recognize and achieve their greatest potential. See below to discover what being a Sprockets partner can do for your organization and the field.
Improve your program’s effectiveness by becoming a Sprockets Activator and using tools like the YPQA (Youth Program Quality Assement), SAYO (Survey of Academic and Youth Outcomes) and the Sprockets database to raise the bar on quality! You’ll be part of a year-round, ongoing series of workshops, trainings and assessments designed to help you best serve the youth in your program. And it’s all at no cost to you. Contact Jocelyn Wiedow to get started.
July 2014 Update: Attend a SAYO info session or register for SAYO 2014-15 here!
Continue to grow as a youth worker by attending free professional development opportunities through Sprockets. Sprockets’ annual conference and monthly (September – May) Foundational Skills Workshops cover a broad array of timely topics, like program planning, youth engagement, racial equity, integrating academics, partnering with parents, and much more.
Contribute to and pull reports from our shared database which collects and stores information about programs throughout Saint Paul. This information is used to help program providers make the best decisions about their programs, while providing easy standardized reporting for funders and others.
Keep in tune with what's going on in your neighborhood by gathering monthly with other youth workers to share best practices, updates, and stay connected with the network. Not able to make the meetings? Sign up for the listservs.
In 2013, Sprockets and Saint Paul Public Schools (SPPS) formed the After School Accelerators (ASA), a pilot which brought youth development and education leaders together to develop innovative ways to support school success through after-school and summer programming. Read the executive summary of ASA's first year and submit your proposal to be part of the 2014-15 ASA cohort!
Get help recruiting and building awareness of your youth program by listing your offerings in the Program Finder. If you're a Sprockets Activator, you'll get a "Quality Partner" logo listed alongside your program so parents know you're working towards continuous quality improvement. Then, share your youth and family-friendly special events in Saint Paul on the Events Calendar.
We hope you’re excited by the possibilities for your organization in the Sprockets network. Join us and make an even bigger, better impact on the youth in our community! Questions? Contact Sprockets Network and Quality Coordinator Jocelyn Wiedow at 651.265.0720 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
